While I liked the premise of Warprize and Vaughan’s grasp of relationships and human dynamics, the plot was mild, with little conflict to speak of and thus, little suspense or action or even upset.


Sign me up to get more news about Romance books. There are also some misunderstanding that come from the fact that these people don’t speak the same language though obviously everything is written in English.

There is another book in the series, but Keir and Lara aren’t main characters, and I’ve struggled to commit to it with the same enthusiasm as with the first three books.

She’s a healer and – although badass – doesn’t know how to fight, hunt or use a bow. The heroine Xylara Lara AKA Warprize is a wonderful blend of sass with a touching vulnerability that makes her born to be a strong yet empathetic Healer.
